I had no idea they had a museum up there for lighters and knives. Zippo's...Ronson's and Colibri's were popular lighters back in the 50's and 60's before Bic took over! Case knives are still real popular along with the Buck's down here...good idea on a rainy day to hit some of the lesser known attractions. The farthest I've been in Pa. was Harrisburg..Hershey and the Amish country around Lancaster. Gettysburg was great too. Have fun!!

Great pic, but I want to be down there in the mangled steel! One day we will get there again. Maybe give it a few years until Michael can appreciate it at least a little.

Truly a shame it came down. But it was originally meant to go 100 years. Mother nature took it down at 103. Had one shortcut on anchors to the concrete footers not been taken in 1900 it may still be intact. At least the scrap company and the state had the sense to preserve it prior to and post collapse. It could be nothing more than a few concrete footers in a valley had that not happened.
For those interested, the article on Wikipedia is pretty darn accurate from what I remember seeing at the site.

Party is over and 400 miles home done. Camper unpacked. I86 in NY did leave us with a nice parting gift. Ah well, got full glass coverage and not have the first one out of the way on the 2017....
Two XLR's heading out... Oh, and a quick stop at the Zippo Case and knife museum yesterday...

I started the install on my JT Strongarms today. All the hardware on the front feet are in place. The frame part of the front install is going to be a challenge. There is no crossmember between the front jacks that is anywhere close to where I need it to be. If I'm reading the instructions right, the forward distance from the jack cannot be more than 6". The closest crossmember is at least 12". I picked up a 7' length of 3" square tubing at the junk heap at the storage lot. I think I can make a crossmember go between the front jacks with that. It will be a cheap solution if it works. I'll need some longer bolts though.
On the street side front jack the frame rail (going towards the rear from the jack) is covered up by the black tank drain pipe. That's going to be interesting. I didn't even check the curb side frame rail.
The rears are going to be a piece of cake. The frame rail is nice and clear.

Sucks about the windshield. But that's what insurance is for.
Got the tires mounted, balanced, and installed today. Shackles and bushings were cake. Bushings were all wasted. Front spring hanger bolts fought me a ton. It is ridiculous that Lippert can't even weld them on at the proper width for the springs. They are too wide and then when you try to tighten the bolts, the holes don't align. Must say I prefer the bolts on the dump trailer that don't have a shoulder you have to tighten down to. Still on blocks, one wheel needs bearings adjusted. Should probably adjust the brakes too since I'm here.
