I went back and forth between leave it stock, replace the stock tank, or add an aux tank. I decided to replace the stock tank and leave it stock. (another way of saying that is I'm replacing the stock 26 gal tank with a stock 48 ) However, I'm still weighing the idea of using some of that additional bed space with something between 40-60 gallons...

Not sure if it's good or not yet Doug but it's morning. I stayed up late as I was irritated XDP raised their price from $811 to $1025 when I was about to order that foolish Titan tank. They had it for $811 for a month or so but I am guessing that was a pre-order special and now that they are in stock they went to regular price. However, their website didn't state as much. So, I finally talk myself into and when I click checkout, the price jumps over $200! That required a couple extra glasses that are now not seeming like the best idea.
Anyways, did they do me a favor? I've never needed more than the 26 gallons my last truck had and I have 34 gallons now. Towed this RV and the last well over 20k miles in 5 years from Nova Scotia to FL to WI and everywhere in between and never had a "oh chit" moment with fuel. Also towed the sled trailer all over New England and Canada without issue. All that said, I wanted it at that deal of a price and agonized over buying it for over a month. What are the odds the night I decide to make a move that they take it away from me. I'll be damned if I'll give them more money than 12 hours ago for it. Perhaps a phone call to plead my case is in order...

I was cautious not to say "good" when referring to the morning. It was far too early at that point to declare it good. The jury is still out - even now!
Sucks that they raised their price on you so abruptly. If you are serious about wanting that tank, I would agree that a call would be in order. They can either give you the discounted price, or not. The call is free, and operators are standing by.
Of course, depending on whether you prefill your filter with magnetic CX4 oil in the old jugs, you may jackhammer and spin a bearing while wondering if you will make it to your destination, and may not need more than the 26 gallon tank from previous years. Who knows?

I get the analysis paralysis from time to time as well, so I totally understand.
When you mount your new tank, keep the drain valve cracked open all the time to protect the HPFP, and you won't have to keep it full of CJ4 or anything but Diesel. You could dump a few gallons of water in it to help clean the fuel up and avoid the jackhammer then.

Can't hurt to call Titan tank and explain what happened and see if they have any recourse on their side to adjust the price to the same one you had in your cart. Sometimes being nice and acting a little stupid can payoff in getting some help.
The amount of coffee that I drink dictates when I need to stop, not so much the amount of fuel in my tank. Plus, they have more coffee or cold drinks available in the places fuel is sold.

Waiting to hear now Roy. Will see what they say. On principal, I refuse to pay over $200 more at 9PM when their website updated than at 8:59PM. If I fill it, I'll be back over my ratings with my little SRW. I've missed the weight police and look forward to giving them something new to chew on...
