All the shiny stuff came for the grill! Better than new!

Furguson, I have to say those flavorizors sure are shiny! Never thought about "restoring" a grill before. Thanks for the ideas...

Yep, the stainless ones are a great upgrade that only needs done once. I did ours a few years back and still solid as new...

Roy, I simply just do not have the time. Going to take a pro with a crew 6 days to do it. Would take me 6 months and not turn out as good. Everything is rounded, no square corners, lots of cuts. I'd rather write the check and go camping! That said we signed the contract and it and deposit go out tomorrow. Revised estimate came in at just shy of 15k, which was less than I expected. Switched block type and while not intentionally, it did help the cost. Should be in by 4th of July!

It's all about buying quality things that can be fixed. Buy a Weber, when/if issues arise, drive to hardware store, buy parts sitting on shelf in stock and go back to grilling another 6 years or more. Or find an old one somebody just gave up on and fix it up, as long as the grill box and frame are good on it the rest can be bought easily. All the parts are still available.

I am hopeful they last. First test was with a magnet, and yes they are magnetic. Only time will tell. They are much heavier than the originals.

When I bought mine on eBay there were sellers with stainless and sellers that made a point to mention they were 304 stainless. I spent the extra couple bucks on the 304. I'm betting your 409 bars last a lifetime too though...

Howdy Gang!

Look what Brown Santa brought me yesterday.

Hopefully I can get a gas bottle tomorrow and put this thing to work on my days off.

Have a great day all.
