OK, that madness is over. Back to a tractor. By the time you add up a top notch z turn, bagger, and front end/frame weights to run a heavy bagger, you're into Deere 7 series money. I always wanted a 7 series and almost bought one a few times throughout this thread. Andre beat me to it but I've landed back on an old favorite. The X739. Phew. I knew I didn't like z turns. Just a brain fart. Back to our regularly scheduled programming... LMAOOOOOO

Gone like a freight train, gone like yesterday, gone like a soldier in the civil war bang bang... I just figured too that my dump where the grass clippings go is down a significantly steep trail. 4WD will rock in that situation...
PS: I blame Scott for the previous page of the thread. I knew I knew what I knew! It's like the old saying goes... "Yes, I was wrong once. It was a situation where I thought I was wrong but was actually right..."

Wow this thread has been going off the tracks today! And back on them. You are all over the place Rodney!
I will say my first go at the ZTR is was definetely thinking it wasn't for me. But that wore off quick and I'd never go back to the tractor for mowing. I have enough room to have one of each, so I will. Lol.
The top of the line Zero turn will definitely approach 7 series JD money. That said Ferris also has 3 levels of power flow units, and even the lowest end setup I priced was knocking on 3k. For reference thats the same money as the JD commercial line bagger for the Z900's.
But since we're throwing wrenches today, I'll toss one out there. I like the 7 series JD's, my dads x758 is a beast. But................they are expensive, and can't do a whole lot without even more expensive options. Yes, you can add a 3 point hitch, you can add a rear pto and make it more flexible. You can't add a loader anymore. Once you add it all up a 7 series isn't a value. You can get into a 1 series for almost the same money, it comes standard with the 3 point hitch, rear PTO, loader valve, 7 iron deck, etc. I'd bet bagger system is the same money as the 7 series. You get a lot more flexibility. Decide you want that garden down the road, 3 point attachments easy to come by new or used.
I looked at the 7 and 1 series side by side when my dad bought the x758. He'll never use a 3 point, he didn't want a loader, he'll never use it for anything other than a mower and snowplow. Just couldn't see pushing him toward the 1 series. I stared at it long and hard before I bought the ZTR. If I buy a tractor I want a loader and 3 point. I want that flexibility. But that's me, and to each his own. Just something to think about.

Rodney, I know you're a V8 man, but while we are on the subject of you changing your mind, you should definitely replace the wife's JGC with one of these: Lincoln Aviator. 450HP/600 ft-lbs of torque from the plug-in hybrid version.
