Today is the day........
Careful during early phase of retirement. I spent last Winter at home (after 35 years on call 24/7/365) and spent way too much time and money on Amazon.. whoa! My monthly Amex was out of hand for awhile.
Doing 'nothing' is an art form of it's own. Try to stay busy on my business but it's not exactly setting the world on fire.. we're fine, tho'.
So this year I resolved to not spend a bunch of money online shopping but instead online shopped new trucks and ended up spending $60k+ on a new F350 XLT CC LB. Dang!
Looking forward to dragging the Reflection around next opportunity.

I wish the diesel option in the 150 was a little stronger, although a family member just bought a brand new Land Rover with this engine...it is very smooth.
They do fail on their own. If you look the bolt halfs are still in the pipe due to the rust. I just happened to notice mine after the bottom bolt broke and a small gap opened up.
Scott, this industry isn't attracting new talent anymore, and the kids coming are raised on video games and think they can just hit reset and try again, they don't have the drive to do it right the first time. Basic maintenance I'm sure was given to one of these kids since the guy you want working on your truck was busy diagnosing what the kid can't. I'd wager he got the strips wrong too.

And then the good techs up here leave the dealerships and start their own businesses.
BUT...the competition is heating up with brand new designs from RAM and GM this year. RAM in particular has a compelling truck, especially the interior...although I'd still be worried about overall quality and reliability from any FCA product. Sometimes I think FCA tries to do too much and forgets core virtues like quality and longevity. But we'll see. The GM trucks are nice enough, but don't really raise the bar.
I think I mentioned earlier another family member bought a new 2018 F-150 earlier this year, coming from a 2016. My takeaway is that I like the 2016 front end better, the 2018 rear end better, and the inside is the same. Of course, his trucks were both XLT Premium trim, and I do think I like the LED lights of the high trim models better on the 2018 trucks. He did switch from a 2.7L to a 5.0L; the 10-speed transmission is simply not as smooth as the old 6-speed in mine and his opinions. He got basically every option for an XLT though, with 20" chrome rims, twin-panel roof, nav, etc, etc.
I believe the new F150 is coming for 2021 model year. Hybrid will be available in the F150, but I don't know what other changes are coming.
Super Duty refresh is 2020 model year, bringing the 10 speed and 7.3L V8 gasser. I expect 500/1000, or very close.
Rodney, I'm glad to hear you've had good luck selling your toys in the fall. We will likely be putting our fifth wheel up for sale this weekend if the final look at the Reflection 311BHS goes off as planned. We are planning to list ours, then order our new reflection late December for a spring delivery.
So, if anyone is looking for a near-mint 2012 Flagstaff 8528 BHSS, hit me up!

I looked again and while I saw a bunch about the new 2020 F150 hybrid, the only mention of an all new 2020 F150 was this article. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/ford-...181900025.html Certainly not a definitive source.
I can see myself ordering a 2019 F150 for spring delivery while my truck is still worth some decent coin if the numbers mesh. Of course, that would only happen if the RV sells. I'd want the 502a pkg which excludes the plow prep which I'd need for the Boss V-Plow I'd add. However, I've found that much like the hill decent button I was able to add to my current truck with Forscan, I can add the plow button to a higher trim level to the F150. All the button does is divert current from niceties like heated seats, 110 inverter, etc. to the electric power steering and plow pump. It's a simple software change that can be done to any 5.0 F150 with Forscan. I'm sure I'm way ahead of myself but I'm always planning the next move...

Good pickup Tom! I missed that...
Honestly, I'd be fine with an old/dated 2019. At least there would be products designed and ready for it like the plow mount I'd need... My wife's new GC will be dated soon with the redesign coming out. I must be growing up or older as I really don't care...LOL

Giving up camping... Never thought I'd hear those words from you Rodney. But I get it... I actually debate over and over about why I need a F350 if I am not RVing. Last time it was because the F150 outfitted like my F350 is wasn't that far off in price. Although a 30 mpg+ hybrid pickup with house power backup generator built in is a good selling point for me.
