Well said Chad. Very accurate and very sad indeed.

I couldn't agree more. But there is a reason behind college for all, and that's because it's a captive audience of young, impressionable minds.

I can attest to that. My youngest daughter was raised in our conservative, pre-dominantly Republicanwest Michigan small town and had(to some extent I'm sure still has) conservative views. At 18, off she went to University of Michigan for 4 years, and is at least for now, is extremely left leaning.... She voted for Hillary in 2016, and when Trump won, but lost the popular vote, she was spitting nails like many still do today.... last time she and I discussed politics, I reminded her that she doesnt have to like Trump, but she needs to respect the office of President regardless of who is in there. Her reply was that there was no way she could do that. That was when our conversation was over on that topic.

I guess I just didn't pay enough attention to that BS while in college (either that or it wasn't as prevalent back then). I was there to bust my butt and get that piece of paper so that I could get a job where I didn't have to work so hard. Then again, I've never have been into politics, but I came out just as conservative as I went in.

I'm consulting at a University and it's disgusting how liberal everything is. The "Honors Program" is just a safe haven for Social Justice Warriors.

Both my sons came out of college with their parent's values intact. Whew!

this

OMG this is so true. Can't tell you how many times I have been chastised by parents for me telling their sons that there are options other than college. Military, trades, trade/specialty school, etc. We are running out of people to do what used to be the backbone of this country!!!

For some silly reason, some parents are embarrassed if their kids don't attend a four year college. I heard recently that less than 50 percent of children that attend high school achieve a four year degree. Parents need to get over themselves and high school needs to change to be relevant for those students that are unlikely to attend and complete a college degree.

Today is the day (Sunday really) that I changed the oil in my two larger snowblowers and started them. Have two blowers because they are older and I don't have much money in either. Wife helps with a single stage, 2 stroke. It fired up with no trouble.

All the sled and snow prayers here have me worried.
