Rodney....... I really like the running boards......

My "chrome" is rusty and I don't have salt problems around here....
I am going to do the same thing......... once I recover from replacing my good camera that committed suicide by jumping off of a ladder yesterday.......
It's replacement, Nikon D5600 is coming from Sam's Club......$800

Roy, you are a salty Sailor, and causing the rust by being near the boards!

Only got out camping twice so far.......

Work around the house is keeping me too busy. I am trying to finish before the cold hits.
However.......We have to take her out at least one or two times........ have to burn up old fuel.

Going camping in the Billings area 13 - 15 September. Lynn has an older sister there that is battling cancer.......

Sorry to see that Roy. I hope Lynn is doing ok with that.
I knew I had read you were getting the boat out, but never saw a follow up that you had gotten it out though. You stay busier with your "6 Saturdays and 1 Sunday" weeks than most of us do with full time jobs.

Looks great Rodney Way better than chrome !

I'm back from Elk Camp (no Elk this year ) and I have a few things that need attention in the trailer. A new door handle is the main thing. I'm gong with the RV Lock v4.0 for that. The igniter on the stovetop has always sucked and I've finally had it. I thought one of you guys posted a review/install of one but I can't find it. I ordered the onlyFire 14451 for about $9 hoping it will fit in the space behind the panel. That covers the stovetop. I need something for the oven too. Lighting that is a pain. I can't seem to get the pilot light to work.

A USB battery pack is on order. RAVPower 32000mAh Power Bank. The two guys that camped with me were ALWAYS charging their phones and crap (WTF do you need that fancy bluetooth watch for out in the woods? There's no cell service!). One guy figured out that he could charge his phone off the USB port on the radio. Yeah, that's a great idea. Leave the radio turned on (not on the tuner) all night long. The front panel is like an airport beacon. I'll use the battery pack in the field when I take my tablet to read a book.

My 150 watt solar panel did a fantastic job of recharging the trailer battery. Even with making two to three pots of coffee using the inverter (plus all the phone charging) I needed the generator only to run the microwave.

So, the bride's GC just had a Uconnect update over the air. Despite completing the update and getting a confirmation, it left a ghost screen overlaying the regular screen that can be seen in the background. Called the dealer for ideas and they tell me that they have nothing to do with the Uconnect software anymore and only the online support can help. This is the first irritation with the Jeep and I hope it's one that can easily be resolved. Even though the radio functions 100% normally, it's irritating to have to way 24 hours for a callback from Uconnect. I suddenly like my Ford's SYNC 3 a lot better...

I'm surprised the dealer won't help on this. Given the number of complaints regarding infotainment systems, you'd think they'd have someone trained to correct these annoyances. Personally, I think the Uconnect looks and functions better than Sync3...but maybe its not as reliable. Who knows.

UConnect is now completely separate from the dealer and only they can address software issues I was told. The only thing the dealer can do is replace the unit if all else fails. UConnect had a real bomb of an OTA update right before we bought the GC where it bricked everyones radio. The radio would just cycle on and off endlessly, even when shut down and get extremely hot. Owners had to disconnect their batteries when not in use to avoid killing them until an patch was released. I was fearing this was 2.0 of that mess. However, after posting my pic on the Jeep forums, one guy told me it was completely normal "update screen burn in" and the screen would be back to normal in a day or two. My wife just took it to work and claims that by the time she got there, it was indeed much lighter. So, hopefully it's a non issue. You'd think the UConnect techs that answered the phone would know this and tell me though if it's a common event...
