Came across these earlier today and thought I'd share. They were made in mexico, and are called B-150 Carryalls (I think). They are all Bullnoses (80-86). It seems like there were a few different versions, and some share bronco parts. They have 2 doors on one side, and 1 on the other.

Version 1: rear doors that open.



Version 2: rear doors with bronco side windows.



Version 3: truck styled tailgate



Version 4: bronco top and tailgate



What do guys know about them, and what do you think?

I don't know, but I'm tempted to go down there and try to find one. It would definitely be a one of a kind vehicle here. I wonder what engines were available in them, and what the back seat looks like?

I really do wonder why we didn't get them, especially if Ford made them. Why did they think Mexico was the only market?
It would have been a straight up competitor to the Suburban that they've already made and tooled/produced. Really kinda baffling.

That would be really fun to bring one back. I think I'd go for the double doors, just to be even more unique.

That's the first time I've seen a bricknose version, do you know anymore about the 80s versions?

 

Not much. It's an 87 B-200 I believe. I'm pretty sure the whole B100, B150, B200 thing stopped in the 80's, so that could be the last of them.

So far I've confirmed they were made from 75-87. Allegedly Ford didn't export the E-series in the 70's and 80's and the Carry All filled that gap. They're based off the F-series with different sheet metal and were typically sold as a 3-door like the 67-72 Suburban with one door on the drivers side and two on the passenger side. In the back you had either a tailgate or barn doors and they made passenger and cargo / panel versions. The panel versions are typically two door and have been used as ambulances and such too.

 

I was happy to find a link to this thread while looking for some Mexican Ford info on-line. I actually took some of the photos, interesting to see how photos get passed around on the Internet. Most of the rigs above are Mexican, but some are from Argentina. The Mexican models were sold as either the B-100 or the B-200 and ran from about 1974 to about 1994 -- because Ford didn't sell the Econoline in Mexico until NAFTA went into effect. The Argentine version did have a special name. In both cases, what Ford built was a chassis-cab model that independent companies could build their own bodies on, that is why there were so many different styles, some made of metal and some of fiberglass.

So were they mostly 2 wheel drive then?
