78 f150 bed sides.
Well I decided to be nice and let my mother use my truck to move a washer and dryer from the store to her home. Short story is a few hours and a brick wall later I need a new rear quarter panel. In not too mad at her cause it needed to be replaced anyway. I can't seem to find bedsides for a short box. Only long ones. Anyone know anywhere that has them? And just for fun here's a pic of the damage.

The way I usually replace damaged panels with repair sections is I overlay the new section on the old, damaged section and clamp it in place (clamps, screws, magnets, etc.) and use a die grinder with a .032" thick cutting disc and cut the new and old panel at the same time. That way the cut lines are identical.
If the panel is accessible from the rear, I use butt clamps to hold the panel in place while I tack the panel. After that I stitch weld and grind the weld smooth.
Here's a picture of the butt clamps I used when I replaced the floor pans in my truck.

I felt the same way until I did it.
I bought the panels and a mig welder.
Practice and then practice some more.
Get some thin scrap steel and try butt welding the pieces together. Space the spot welds about an inch or so apart. Be sure not to overheat the metal. All a stitch weld is, is a series of closely spaced, overlapping spot welds.
