Turbo keeps blowing hoses off

I just recently repaired issues with my 6.0 and now new issues has begun. The turbo keeps blowing the pipes out of the rubber hoses. Not sure what is happening or why so a little insight would be helpful.
Oh yeah out of all the work completed in my previous post..don't bother replacing the solenoid section of the injectors. I replaced two the bad ones, rebuilt the other 6 with new everything including a cleaning and now I am getting codes for 3 that are going bad. Oh well I tried right...
Thanks
Joe

Make sure that the surfaces are clean and that the bead is in the groove. You can also spray them with a little hair spray to make them tacky. Are you torqueing them properly. I think it's 9 ft.lbs.

Also while you have it off check to make sure that
it's not been over torqued and tapered. You want round
straight walls. If tapered it makes it easy for the hose to
slide off. The one other trick is hairspray on the metal.
Just make sure it's all very clean.

Instead of 9ft/lbs i torqued mine as tight as i possibly could with a 1/4 ratchet. Was sick of them blowing off as well, you would need a breaker/cheater bar on those clamps to taper those CAC pipes. Make sure you clean the surface well, and clean the hose mating surface and then reel that sucker down. My biggest culprit was the hot side right off the turbo, was many a time when i would step on it and almost give the fiance a heart attack when it blew off

In addition to the already mentioned items, I was able to fasten 2 clamps on the metal tube at the intercooler entrance location. At the turbo compressor outlet i also installed lock nuts against the nylock nuts that are on the clamps. I found that mine loosened until i put on the lock nuts.
Also, i think my open air CCV keeps that oil mist to a minimum inside the tubes.

It should keep all oil out, anything you see now would be residual from before the CCV

I'm a dumbazz...lol apparently when I put the turbo pipes back on I did not read the label on the hoses and put the one from the turbo on in the correct direction. Hope that takes care of it...will see shortly have to go to town shortly...thanks

BTW did you point the threaded end so that when it does blow off
it does not dent the hood from the inside? They have been known to do that.

Sean

The dent is a right of passage, you can't be a 6.0 fanatic without a dented hood.

Mine wouldn't stay on either, they were oil soaked so I replaced them, problem resolved.

YEAH, the hood is the only part I see while driving and it would drive me crazy to be looking at a dent the entire time I'm driving. I've got a rock 'star' on my windshield right near the wiper and (thankfully) I don't notice it.. but I do need to get it fixed... glad this thread reminded me of it.

The sound of a turbo hose blowing off on a hard acceleration and feeling the truck falling flat on its face is something you won't forget

Maybe it is time to remove the CAC itself and upend it and see how much oil comes out.
We found many in the fleet that had long standing high crank case pressure that oil had parially filled the cac. Had to drain them and flush/boil them out.
The inlet and outlet are above the bottom of the cooler. In our case some of them had over a pint of oil come out.
