Question Offenhauser craigslist find

Could use some advice, i am looking to slowly piece together some light performance parts for an '81 300-6 i have. i just want to have it as a spare time project.
I have recently come across a offenhauser 'C' intake manifold in my local listings for $150 obo the thing I'm wondering about is he says it had two hairline cracks near two of the mounts that he had "professionally tig welded"...
I'm wondering what a good asking price would be?
the welds kind of have me thinking.
not set on needing the intake just curious as to what you guys might think?
thanks

A new one costs $260 on Summit. I am happy to pay the extra, no headaches, no blown gaskets, no guessing, and a warranty.

There is no a back order at Summit for both the DP and the C. Last time Summit said 6 mo wait it took 3 months before the Offy's were back. I expect the same.

A well done weld is stronger than the metal around it so I wouldn't let that in and of itself put me off. I would want to confirm that the gasket face is flush/true so it seals right, though.

I've, unfortunately, broken two (different) tabs on my Offenhauser DP and both times have had it welded and given a light resurface to be sure it was back to flat.

As long as they're welded right, they're plenty strong. I haven't had any problems with them.

You can always pay extra for a new one that you know is good, but maybe offer him $100, $125 and be sure to mention the welds?

Thanks for the advice, gentlemen. Unfortunately he had sold it before he could reply to my email.
