injection pump 6.9 diesel
remove the pump and the lines as one unit. it will look like a giant butterfly coming out. DO NOT REMOVE THE TOWER COVER WITH THE PUMP (that will mess up the timing and will take longer to replace.) There are 3 nuts on the flange of the pump and 3 little 12 pt bolts inside the front cover that hold the pump to the drive gear - loosen all the lines from the nozzles, remove fuel supply lines, return lines and lift out the pump. Going back together, there is little dowel in the drive gear that will line up the pump very close to correct timing. When everything is lined up inside the tower, it will slip together real easy. hope this helps
