what size fuel line does ford use to run between tank to rail, 5/16 or 3/8. do they use same size on the return only? if they use a 5/16 line is it going to hurt adapting to 3/8 line. ie.. loss of fuel pressure at the rail, fuel will heat more this way, fuel will go through bypass more, ect
thanks

the motor is out of a merc grand maque but it is now installed in a jeep cj8. i have now adapted the fuel line and return line to 3/8 but i am wondering if the 5/16 line would be able to add more pressure at the rail. right now i run a e2000 inline pump and with koeo i hit close to 30-35psi, koer maintain 30 psi and under throttle it will even shoot up to 32ish psi.
The only difference line size should make would be related to flow rate. A larger line will flow more fuel with less pressure drop over the length of the run when in use. An undersize line could be a problem but not an oversize one. As long as your fuel use rate does not exceed fuel pump rate/capacity it will be the pump (and it's internal/external pressure regulator) that decides the overall line pressure.
