1967 F100 352 - new purchase

My latest purchase is a 1967 F100 352 ci with a 3 on the tree manual shifter

It was restored in the past and runs great with a rebuilt motor

Thinking about one of the resto mod radio's to get some tunes and possibly a tow hitch

But first to maintenance items...I'm going to have all the fluids replaced so I know they've been done

Anything else I should watch out for?

Thanks
John

Hood latch and safety catch. Make sure it's clean, lubed and aligned, and works as advertised. Lots of people have had their 60s era truck hoods flying up at speed out on the highway.

Bearings, brakes, and steering linkage.

Very nice... I like the restraint shown in the paint job. The simple pinstripe and the red in the wheel caps speaks volumes.

.. the gravel/stone shield and its wings oughtta have been painted charcoal.

Very Nice X2 the gravel/stone shield and its wings oughtta have been painted charcoal.
Other than that it looks like a nice truck. Do all the servicing than enjoy the ride. Upgrades and other creature comforts can wait. Just enjoy it.

3X. Nice truck. You keep the snow and i'll take the truck. You wouldn't want anything that handsome to rust away would ya?

Thanks guys, planning to enjoy this over the summer - I plan to use it too, mulch, trips to Home Depot etc.... Any recommendations on bed covering. Its just the metal covered in paint from what I can tell...you can tell it had rusted in some spots before they caught it as there are some small holes in the rear but that's it. I'm wondering do I:

1. Cover with oak or some sort of wood and make it look great - might worry then what I put in it then....
2. Spray rhino liner in so its protected forever
3. buy a cheaper liner (have seen rubber ones) and just use the truck?

Thanks
John

IMHO,if you're gonna USE it (shaking head no) I'd spray in the Rhino. Help protect the inner side of the bedsides from denting outward or whatever.

Spray the bedliner just over the top edge of the tailgate. Helps keep the scratches away when the lumber is long and the tailgate is up.

Thumbs up

In 1967 the average yearly income was $7,300,
gas was 33 cents a gallon,
minimum wage was raised to $1.40 an hour,
the first issue of Rolling Stone Magazine was published,
you had the beginning of the race riots,
interracial marriage was finally considered constitutional,
the first Super Bowl took place,
Muhammad Ali was stripped of his heavy weight title,
6% tax increases to support the Vietnam War,
Evel Knievel fails in his attempt to
jump the fountains at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas,
The Beatles release Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band,
The Doors' self-titled debut album is released,
the world's first heart transplant was done
and the world's first ATM is put into service.

What better way to top off a great year than for
Ford to release the greatest man made vehicle of all time.
The 1967 Ford pickup.

Congratulations on the purchase.

Very nice looking pickup. Nice paint scheme and the wheels work well with it.
As to protecting the bed - well I like to look out my rear window and see a nice blue bed when I am not hauling anything, so I bought one of those heavy duty mats and roll it out if I am going to haul anything. Doesn't protect the sides of the bed, just the floor.

Thanks for all the complements guys. Love the 1967 history too!! Just bought some nicer lug nuts for it and they look great. Also looking at a CURT hitch for it but it says something about having a step rear bumper...not sure mine has this so not sure what hitch I can use, any ideas??

You don't have any bumper back there. You have a roll pan instead.
