Swapped my bench for buckets in my 99XL

Swapped my bench out for cloth buckets from a 2000 Expedition . The drivers side is power so I ran wires to the
passenger side kick panel passenger side kick panel
. Works great. The only thing I would mention is that the 2 rear inboard holes that land the seat belts and a bigger bolt than the others. Make sure when you get your source seats to grab those bolts and a couple extras for the front . Fit and works perfectly.

there are always a lot of question on this forum of "will these seats fit my truck"... I have a feeling that FORD used a standard bolt pattern and NORMALLY all seats would be interchangeable. Like you said, small changes to the bolts, spare holes or seat belts might occure....... I had very similar seats in my 2001 CREW - but with arm rest in thee middle.. Nice seats !

I had to tap the forward inner holes for the seats as Ford has holes there, but they aren't threaded. The seat belt wiring plug was a direct match but I had to splice my power and ground directly into the power seat wiring harness. went ahead and wired an inline 30 amp fuse there too, just in case.

Way too gun shy about a used auto 4wd. Too many horror stories.

Good idea and well done. I've been thinking of doing the same thing with my 99 XLT because I don't like the arm rest and I loath the drink holder. Its not forward near enough. Part of that is I position myself closer to the wheel than most people even though I'm 6'1. The closer you are to the controls of the vehicle the more control you will have. The arm rest and drink holder should adjust to fit driver comfort IMO.

If your truck is an auto, grab the Expedition center console too, fits perfect. Don't forget the mounting bracket

I tracked down a center console from a 97 at a local wrecking yard. Hope to have it installed by Friday.

Just a heads up. The factory holes that are for the rear of the console are bigger holes than the front. I tapped the rears at 12-1.75 and the fronts at 10-1.50. I thought it was odd that they had different sized holes. Console is all installed now. If you have the chance, put it in before the seats. Much easier that way.
