3 part question re: 3 point seat belts

I have 2 point, I want 3 point.
1) how to install something to hold the part of the seatbelt that hooks to the cab (called pillar & Pillar loop? not sure)
2) are the 3 point seatbelts on ebay for $30 to $50 satisfactory?
3) probably far into the future I want to go from bench seat to buckets, will that require new seat belts?

IMHO 3 points are better than 2. Mounting is easy. You have to weld a piece of stock for the one next to the door for the best installation. Juliano's is where I got mine and am very happy with them. I went to bucket seats and they had exactly what I needed with good instructions and hardware. This isn't something to get on the cheap. (ebay mystery parts).

It would be really helpful in answering your questions if we knew what year and model your truck is.

48 -52 Classic Haulers has the upper plates to weld into the cab.

Sorry '52 F1
I don't mind giving Haulers $100 for that funky lookin thing and Juliano's $200, if it's the smartest thing, I'm wondering if it's necessary, the best value.

I don't know anything about Juliano's, but I have those from Classic Haulers in my truck and I'm very happy with them. I also bought my belts/retractors from them (they were shipped from Mid Fifty) but you can find junk yard belts that will work and are a lot cheaper. I wanted new ones.

Great picks Joe. Are those upper mounts from Haulers welded in? Haulers Lists them as 1948 to 1950, did you have to modify for your '51?

Yes, they are welded in.

Classic Haulers sells them for the 48-50 trucks with the smaller window (bigger plates) and for the 51-52 like those in the pics.

Your experience may vary. I ordered the 51-52 brackets, (my 48 has the 51-52 rear window) and received the 48-50 brackets. I emailed about it and was told that I will need to cut them to fit.

Not really a big deal. Just odd that they have two different part numbers.

They are definitely two different parts. I did not have to cut mine (51-52) and they fit fine.

You got the wrong parts. The pics online show the 48-50 plates are MUCH wider than mine. Probably 10" wider.

48-50

I used the belts and the upper attach bolt point from a 98 ford pick up. It didn't require much fabrication to make it all work. Bent a upper plate to fit then welded the upper attaching nut to it then to the window and door frame.
The lower points to the floor and the retract/lock up to the rear floor near the rear wall. really not difficult to do if you have any fabrication skill

I made plates for my 54 and got belts out of the back seat of a Ford minivan. The belts from the 3rd seat in minivans is not used much and I think the single retractor/inertial brake unit is much easier to install than the double ended units.

seat belts 010 - anchor point for the passenger side upper shoulder strap loop

seat belts 005 - belts came out of the back seat of a Aerostar van, single inertia type spool with belts that are plenty long and mounted in the original vehicle very close to same orientation as the truck cab.

Does anyone have pictures of the finished product in a 51? I am looking at the mid fifty product, curious where to mount the lower part of the extractor portion of the seatbelt (point closest to the bottom of the doors). Thanks
