1975 F100 Power to Manual Options?
Hey guys. I have a 1975 Ford F100 with serious power steering issues and I am a minimalist that wouldnt mind the extra effort it would take to operate a manual steering setup.
I read somewhere on the forum that can just seal everything up on a power steering system and PRESTO!!! You have manual steering!? Doesnt sound like something id want to do without lots of confirmation.
I dont think they have a manual steering box available for a 75, so options seem limited. Older setup and swap?
Any suggestions?

Hylankyler,
I'm not certain about just sealing up a PS system but I'm a rookie on this site with respects to "mods" like that.
I do know you can by the manual steering box though. Cardone sells a remanufactured steering gear for 1975 Ford trucks. Part #5294-05002322. It's about $175. O'Reily's also carries them under the MasterPro brand name for about $245. Don't forget to price shop "including freight" as these boxes are a beast to ship (heavy).
Also, you'll probably need a longer steering wheel shaft as the PS shafts are shorter than the manual steering shafts.
Good luck,
Scott
