New Green velour and vinyl seat installed
Fellow Green Guys, I finally got my seat redone in what is supposed to be the correct vinyl and cloth materials. Pre made from the Autoupholsteryguys.com .It has the correct vinyl band across the top and down the middle and the correct Pleat width. Came in a box with hog rings, etc to be installed on the seat frame. I also got a new foam seat bottom as per the previous post above and can’t believe what a difference that cushion made. My foam was basically mush.....The fabric is a little shiny for my taste but probably period correct. Since, I live in Texas I decided to do the cloth surface instead of the vinyl even though it is not the basic Custom interior. Too hot.

Seat upholstery cost
I paid $330 for the prepaid green seat, with the hog rings, pliers, etc. Scored the foam pad from USA 1 for $200, much less than others. Took about 3 weeks to come in. That includes all the shipping which must have been considerable, especially on that cushion, about 5’ foot wide in the box.

Did you replace the entire 1 foot thick piece of foam for the bottom of the seat? If so, where did you get it from and how hard was it to remove old and replace with new? Never heard of this being done before.

Yes, replaced that entire mushy foam piece.!!!From USA 1 interiors for $200. Not unite 12” thick....The entire bottom seat has to be taken off. Had my upholstery guy do it with the new seat material being installed. You Might be able to undo the hog rings on the front or rear of the bottom seat , lift it up , fold it forward , lift out the old piece, and and then redo the hog rings. Well worth it for me, still relatively soft by modern standards but much better.

Anyone seen vinyl and velour
My front seat has green vinyl skirt with bright green velour insert. I have been told my seat is a fake but I like the color combinations. I haven't found a company that has that combination. Also my truck was repainted the same color combinations. The local upholstery shop.says it is impossible to duplicate. Don't know how to fix the problem. Have a good day

Something may be "Fake" but if your seat looks like mine, it's real
