trying to put a new fuel line in, if the lifting eye is removed then I can get it in easier. A previous mechanic stripped it. I will try to remove the bolt if I can replace it, if not I will try to put the fuel line in the same way I took it out, but it was a slow and difficult process.
Nance, I am on my phone so I cant see where you are located so forgive me but do you have any hardware stores close..ie Fastenal? If so then take the undamaged one out and go match it up if you can. If not then I really think your best bet would still be to pull the good one and take it to whatever you have available and try and match it. Most auto parts stores have that "thread/bolt" thing that you can screw yours into to figure out what you need. Just my opinion but while it would look different if you had to put a regular bolt in there who cares as long as the threads are correct and the same length. My $.02
I always completely remove the rear one,, and cut the front to allow the fuel line bracket to stay in place. I remove engines using my lifting bracket bolted to the turbo pedestal. I actually have a bunch of these and if you call Julie in the morning,, she can toss one or two in an envelope to you. I think she has the part number too.
Thanks everyone! I sure appreciate all the info, @Anthony, thanks so much for the offer, need to get it in asap (trailer needs to get off street) will call for part number to locate! Randy, thanks so much for the comment, and for seeing that I am trying to do what I can....
One thing about it you are persistant. Glad it is finally going your way.
LOL, have been told that I am as tenacious as a bulldog since I was a child... You should see some of the remodels I've done, the replumbing on one took a while to get it to seat, watched youtube after youtube and finally got it all in and rebuilt bathroom from ground up with new ceramic tile shower with contrast inlays, same for master with the addition of a 1/4 circle seat and heated tile floor.
