Best tuner/chip options for 01, 7.3
What are the best options for a programmer chip/tuner for the 7.3?
Truck is used mostly to pull horse trailer and the wife is spoiled with the power of the TS chip, but it is giving trouble so I'm thinking its time to go with the programmer type....?
opinions welcome

the thing with tuners is you need to remove the stock tuning from the computer and replace it with the aftermarket tune. if one little thing goes wrong, you are stuck with a dead computer that can not be returned to stock.
sorta like a home PC. when you interrupt a download or update for any reason, the pc turns into a big pile of electronic scrap.

i didn't know that. I spoke with a guru of sorts who said he had seen some chips burn the computer or crack it I believe he said, which is why he preferred the tuners?
Anyway, I bought the truck with the TS performance chip and it was a hoss and we loved it. Had problems last summer and the chip went out, so I finally got the factory to send me a new one and I have no complaints about performance, just the starting problem which I hope is behind me now. All new glow plugs, several injectors and O rings and now the glow plug relay. Let's hope she goes strong for the summer.

not a problem with the chip at all
As it turns out, the whole problem with starting was probably a burnt glow plug relay!!! spent a lot of money trying to figure this one out but now it cranks and runs fine. My only complaint is a slight hesitation/delay during early excelleration as either the chip or the turbo is kicking in? not sure the cause of this, but I can live with it. Just want to drive it now for a while without repair bills!
