As I was replacing attempting to fix a lean code on my car, I accidently broke the cap that connects the Cruise Control actuator to the intake control (See this image. I know its not one thats specific to my year/make/model, but it is an image of the correct piece). I was wondering, does anyone know if I can replace just that part? Thus far, I have only found a way to replace the entire actuator cable . Is this true? Is there any way for me to just replace the plastic cap?

 

What is the specific year and engine of your Explorer? Have you checked with places such as Dorman to see if they make that piece for your model and year? Looks like the link for the cable assembly was for a 2001 Sport Trac, but positive confirmation on that would be helpful.

It is a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac. I'll check Dormans now.
