need help, which fuse to tap power from for lighted gauges?

need help, which fuse to tap power from for lighted gauges?

thats all i need to finish this project. or should i run it to the same fuse that i got key on power from? thanks for any help

Mine come off the dimmer for the dash lights. I didn't do the job but if I was wiring them myself that's where I would go.

i am useing the add-a circuit fuse links, but im guessing i will need to tap into a wire. dont know where the dimmer wires are

They should be attached to the back of the dimmer switch on the dash.

thanks, i will tap into them. now gotta find out why my left rear wheel is hot to the touch and has burning brakes smell, which i may have to start another thread on if i cant find out anything on it in the search

There's plenty of discussion on them and you will have to remove the caliper to determine. Potential culprits include frozen pistons, frozen pins in the caliper and degenerated brake lines.

Depends on which gauges your using. If they are glow shift then you may need to use the head light power. The dimming circuitry is built into the gauge and it just dims by a set amount when headlights are turned on. If you tap into the dimmer circuit they won't backlight at all.

thanks, i used it. but now when i turn the headlights on autometer pyro jumps up few milimeters and back down with lights off

if you have the glow shift gauges, i personally wouldnt worry about hooking up the dimmer lights, i drive around mostly at night and i dont have the dimmer hooked up, they dont cause any distraction for me atleast.
