I have a 2006 f250. Had new batteries and new alternator put in less than a year ago. The voltage that is being put out fluctuates between 12.5v-15+ Volts. Any idea on what needs to be fixed? The battery light will flicker on and off at some times and sometimes when it's running between 13.3-13.8 volts the battery light stays on.
Battery like means charging system problems. Why did you replace your alt and batteries? Sounds like a faulty alternator. I wouldn't like to see 15+. that usually means bad regulator in alternator. And any AC current ouput means bad diodes in alternator. Disconnect batteries and check open circuit state of charge. 12.6 is 100% 12.4 is 75%. Batteries don't like cold so it might take a while for voltage to stabilize above 13.5 after starting engine. Don't turn a load on until it does. But voltage should be 13.5-14.5 while driving

Thank you I will check it out! The alternator went bad last year around June and a few months later I had my truck bullet proofed and they put new batteries in then.
