Perfect. Thanks for the warning on the hard start, Bill.
Do you guys think it'd be worth putting off till the next oil change, or would that make a difference? Since this is in the high-pressure system, would it stay up in the top, or could I avoid the mess this way?
HPO system is fed from the crankcase so it's all the same oil. I would change the plug now and not worry about it. If there was risk of getting contamination into the oil, I would wait, but in this case the oil is going to be making a mess, not the other way around. It's not a real big job, it's just messy.
not to hijack this thread but will/does your engine look like this near the manifolds. because I am trying to figure out where my oil leak is from and it isn't the EBPV and the Hpop is clean but all along the front cover and passenger side of the head and starter are just caked. I know the dipstick leaks.

There are oil rail plugs at both ends of the heads. That oil could be from the plug on your front pax side head. You may need to remove the alternator to get a look at it.
well I am pulling the engine out now so I will get a better look at it. I had intensions of taking things off to take pictures so that people can look at my leaks and apply it to theirs, to try and help take the guessing out of the issues. Thanks for the guidance.

Mine looks like that on both sides.I have tried everything to allievate it.new vc gaskets for burnt stuff. Deleted pedestal(was deff leaking)..
Yet it persists.it did drip on the floor once in a while from pedestal orings .since then not on floor but between vc and manifold is still wet...I give up.it does not drip and no way near enough to show on dipstick so forget it.
My next, mostly unrelated question- I have smoke/vapor coming from near the CCV. I can't really get a good enough look at it while it's running to tell if it's from the seal(s) between the vent, and valve cover, or from the elbow that goes from vent to intake. Any thoughts, guys?

Could be either one. I've seen those rubber boots get brittle and crack, but more commonly the rubber o-rings between the doghouse and the valve cover get all soft and swelled and leak.
