A/c compressor went, help me find an OEM one!

MY 1996 f350 4x4 460 5 spd needs a new A/C compressor. I was hoping someone (numbers) might be able to help me find a new replacement of good quality, like a motocraft maybe. I don't have to have a motocraft, but a good pump with a new clutch is a requirement. Orielly, Napa, and autozone all have their line which I usually have terrible luck with. Thanks.

ehhhh its really tough to say who has new oem parts. just cuz it has a motorcraft badge doesnt mean it was rebuilt to motorcraft standards.

the dealer still sells them, but its gonna be pricey.

junkyard is always a good option. find a decent truck that still has pressure in the system, cut the belt make sure its not seized, and you should get some good life out of a jy pump. getting a new dryer is always a good thing after atmosphere is introduced, and the current one is 20 years old. those can be pretty much any brand, and I say that with a bit of reluctance.

The reman I got from O'reilly's was actually a motorcraft that had been rebuilt. 3 years, still going strong.

That is your best bet. I stay away from junkyard compressors. Too much at stake to have one come apart.
