91 f150 ignition cylinder problem need advice
1991 f150 2wd 4.9
turning my ignition cylinder in cold weather is becoming a problem. I don't think it's a moisture problem but more a wear problem that gets worst when parts contract with lower temps. regardless I want to take the steering column apart and inspect it and maybe lube with Teflon spay and replace any worn parts. does anybody have a breakdown diagram of the column and know how to remove ignition key cylinder without messing up key bezel. any help would be appreciated. thanks

Tilt or straight column? If its straight, its easy. Look for a small hole next to the hazard light switch, turn the ignition to the "run" position, then insert a small pick or punch through the small hole and push in, then pull the cylinder out. If its a tilt column you'll have to remove the plastic covers, but the procedure is the same otherwise. Just look for the small hole next to the lock cylinder, turn the key to run, insert a tool to depress the release button and pull it out.
