Transmission cooling...
I am worried about overheating my transmission while towing. I have two questions:
1. What can I add to the stock set up to keep the trans cool? I am thinking either:
A) a second trans cooler, in addition to the stock cooler.
B) a larger trans cooler, replacing the stocker cooler.
C) Add a small fan to the stock transmission cooler.
I am on a budget and feel my money should be concentrated on the cooler as opposed to a deep transmission pan.
2. I am towing my 5K TT up a winding mountion road this coming weekend. I will not have time to anything listed in #1. How do I not smoke my transmission on this trip?
Any suggestions would appreciated.

This is the best way to keep from burning up your tranny, by being able to keep a close eye on the actual temperature. If you notice it getting too high, then ease up on the power, or pull over and let it cool down.
When you have the time, you might want to install an additional cooler along side the existing one. That seems to be the most popular way along with a an electric fan.
Hope this helps...
Thanks for the replies on both of my topics. I will mount my controller like you mounted yours.
Your gauge pod: It looks good. Did it come in that color or did you have to paint it?
I will try to get a temp gauge before this weekend. I just want the trans temp gauge, so I am looking at the single A-pillar pod or the one that fits on the steering column.

The dual gauge pod that mounts over the steering column looks good, but it does block the view of the factory gauges on the outside edge of the instrument cluster.
