I put a 30" and 3.5" drop in my 48 however when I upgraded my column I went with a 32" Ididit and a 2.5 inch drop. This combination clears my belly better. That's what happens when you get old and your chest drops to your drawers.

On my 52 I used a 30" Flaming River column shift and had to bend the shift lever to get clearance between the dash. I heated it with a torch at the very base of the shifter and bent it out some then had it rechromed.
