Have not checked for spark. Is there a good way to do so? I have not even looked for the plugs on this engine so curious as to the best way to check. Thanks again.

 

they make cheap spark testers or you could use an incandescent test light or a length of insulated wire take one end to the lead in the boot and one about a half inch to an inch from ground a good one and it should jump the gap while cranking. as a last option I suppose you could use a spark plug and ground it I doubt it will work. your best option is the spark tester or test light

 

they make several types of spark testers for sale at just about any auto parts store.

 

Bkadds, I didn't see your response to this question.......Does the check engine light turn off WHILE you are cranking the engine?
