I'm going to hijack a little too. How are you guys wiring fog lights up? A switch inside the cab? My truck for whatever reason doesn't have reverse lights. I was told I could use the trailer lights plug but I've got my 60" LED light bar hooked to that under the tailgate. Speaking of my light bar if it wasn't for the 5% window tint I have that would be plenty bright enough for most people.
... SpeedRacer is reference to a cartoon from the 1960's, for you yunguns....
Yeah... that was about 10 PP (Pre-Pong). I watched it on our B/W television - and I liked it. This is when the thumb-operated generation goes "What's B/W?"
The goal is not more light for my eyes, that might be another project on another day. I have holes in my bumper and I want them filled. This project might be too isolated for a group effort, but it was worth a shot. I have more information than I did before, so now it's back to spec reading.

Don't give up on us so easily. You asked for ideas, give us time.
Let's revisit my laser idea... with a modification.
Suppose Costco was out of stock on weapons grade variety lasers, in order to make room for more pallets of LED shop lights.
No problem. Just use cheap consumer grade keychain laser pointers, with a twist:
Fishing line.
Cut four pieces of fishing line 3 feet long, and fasten each piece dead center through the angle corrected grommets in the four holes of your reverse aide bumper, with the laser pointers fastened on the back side.
Then, at night, with your truck's forward motion, your clear fishing line strings will lift and trail suspended in the air behind you, like skinny contrails of a comet, and when illuminated by your key chain lasers, will appear to other drivers as a force field of protection.
Talk about "how far that little candle throws it's beam", it might be for as long as you can drive fast enough to keep a given length of fishing line airborne and level.
Talk about a "butt" light, that'd look bad "a**" at night, like one of those sophisticated anti intruder systems seen in movies, if you could pull it off.
(Hey, you asked for group think, and there is always one in every group.)
Your looking for ⅞ diameter, these are ¾ I'm sure you could make up the difference with a slightly thicker grommet. At $15 each they might be worth a shot.
scotttahoe: What are those lights? I would like to mount those in the same position on my Bronco and on my utility trailer.
Tim I'll send you a PM so I don't clog up Riche's thread. Give me a day to get the pics. Unfortunately I did not get them online but at a local store. I'll try and find out where they get them.
I know it's aftermarket bumper, but here is my answer to seeing at night in reverse. works great with the back-up camera. close to having head lights on the back...
