turbo help, new injectors
Hey guys heres my question......im waiting on my tax return, when i get it im rebuilding (upgrading) my 4r100. Right now i have 175cc/stock injectors but going to put 100% nozzles on them and need a turbo to match them good, i know a 38r would work great but i dont think im going to jave the funds left over to get one, i was wondering if i could build my stock turbo to move enough air to work with the injectors? Right niw i have a rebuilt gtp38 with no ebpv, stock wheel, and a ATS ported housing. Was thinking of a 1.00 or 1.15 exhaust housing with the van adapter and a wicked wheel with the ported housing. Do any of you think a set up like that would move enough air for them injectors? Im not to worried about turbo lag because i have 4:10 gears so it lights up extremely fast now with the .84 exhaust housing on it. I really wish i could just find a used 38r and be done but their seems to be none around haha thanks a lot for anyones input, its greatly appreciated

From all the research I have done on here…There are a lot of guys using your Turbo setup with the exception of a wheel upgrade and 1.0 housing…I think you can move the air…maybe an exhaust upgrade and the 6637 air filter…I upgraded to the AFE big boost filter…I did a before and after up a mountain pass against the 6637..big difference with the AFE filter….Check out Riffraff diesel's website, they are an FTE sponsor They currently have a sale on the 38r as well,,they are my place for power stroke parts

175 stock injectors? They don't come with 175 injectors. If you have the ats ported housing I'd go with Clay's upgraded wheel for that housing. Higher boost and better spool up. If you have the 175 single shoots and are going to have them put 100 over tips on them you may need new tuning as well. I'd go with the 1.0 exhaust housing if your going to change that, the 1.15 mitt be a little much. Some guys really like them but again you have to be tuned for that.

I already have a reg return, intake,4" turbo back, hutch mod,and some more im forgetting. As for my injectors they are 175cc stock nozzle single shot injectors with tw tunes. Im going to have 175cc 100% nozzles with new tunes. What im wondering is what can i do to my turbo for it to keep up with the new 100% nozzles.

go to this website & plug in your location, once the page updates the elevation will be right under the location name:
Weather Forecast & Reports - Long Range & Local | Wunderground | Weather Underground
This is the part about the 1.0 and the 1.15 Bonanza35 was getting at. At higher elevations the 1.15 A/R housing is really laggy

Next would be to find out what the potential HP is from the 175/100 injectors. Ask the person you are getting them from and the tuner who's writing the programs for them. After that you can look at some compressor maps and see were you stand with turbo choices.
BUT, make sure you do your homework on the 100% nozzles. They can be tricky to get the tuning right. Many need live tuning, so that must be brought to the table as an option if your dead set on getting them. Tugly, Curtis & Cleatus here on FTE can give you loads of info on these nozzles & combinations. 80% are much easier to tune for.
Plus, if you have a TS style chip you will be sending that thing back & forth in the mail till you get the tunes right. If you have a Hydra style chip you can at least get your tunes via e-mail and load them yourself.
Edit: I'm guessing 400-425 HP
