Great people here on FTE (Cougar54)
So last week Cougar54 (Doug) posted a thread on here about his bell housing troubles for his 226. I had a 226 engine and trans here that I had no love for and was in my way.
Doug lives in Michigan and was going to come down to buy the engine. I needed a gas tank for the Marmon Herrington build and found one in Michigan and asked Doug if he could pick it up and deliver it to me.
I wanted a $100 for my parts and the tank was listed for $75 (I hope he got it for less) I told him get the tank for me and we will do an even trade. Yesterday, Doug and his wife drove down and picked up the engine and delivered the gas tank.
It was very nice to meet them and I appreciate the extra "LEG" work they did for me.
Thanks again!

Man, first claiming the 56 is the best and now the puns. You are on a roll tonight.
Sounds like you both got a great deal. That's the great thing about this group, everyone is so helpful. BJMayberry asked me about some inner fenders I had, I offered them in return for having him come help me on my truck. When I saw the cost of new ones, I thought he was getting a fantastic deal. After he left, I was sure I got the better of the deal.
The willingness for everyone to help others on here never ceases to amaze me. Such a great group of guys....or we are all crazy.....well I guess that goes without saying.

My truck has big parts, as well as bits and pieces from at least eight or nine members here. (I got the 8' bed from one because mine was long gone and he had an extra)
And about 200 members contributed: advice, tech tips, drawings, part numbers, warnings, encouragement, specifications, vendor comparisons, comic relief and man-food recipes.
You can't beat that for the price of supporting membership.
