Waze is awesome. It alerts you to traffic problems and construction. You can even comment and post with other drivers. I remember being stuck in Moapa Valley for several hours because of construction. It was fun having other drivers to complain with.

The Canopener only works on the 2011-2012 and maybe some 2013's that have the brick radio that has the internal hard disk drive....I do not think they have one for the later model trucks.....you will need to look into the lockpick unit.

No problem, NStorm!
I certainly understand where you're coming from, ngng. Map updates are completely optional, but it is important you know that they are available if you ever become interested in purchasing one. The complexity of factory-installed navigation systems in comparison to personal navigation devices adds to the cost of providing updates. These often include software updates to improve the system features as well.

Well then maybe I should shut up about the VIN. I was going to order one for my '11 and they needed the VIN, but my truck wasn't around so I cancelled the transaction and just never tried to reorder it.
I just tried it again and it's asking for:
http://ford.navigation.com/cms/page...._US/FordNA/USD
Did you have to do that?
I just tried it again and it's asking for:
How to enter your Application Number
The Application Number is a unique identification number from your navigation system that is used to generate the activation code.
To obtain the Application Number, press the Information ("I") button located in your vehicle and then select "System Info"

I used the link provided in post #8 and followed the instructions provided online. I printed out the paper and took it to my truck to write down all of the numbers it asked for. The next morning, I input those numbers back onto the site and ordered the appropriate update. Tracking shows it is expected to arrive on Saturday. Of course, mine is coming on an SD card too, so that could be the difference in what info they need.
