Which year F250/350 Leaf Springs for Excursion Swap?

I've found a used set of 2010 F350 Leaf Springs and was wondering if these would work on an excursion? I have read about the V/B code mod and am trying to accomplish the same results. Any insight is appreciated.

I'm pretty sure, it has to be the same production years of the excursion 2000-2005 as it's built on the superduty chassis.

I looked and looked for old springs but at the end of the day I felt more comfortable with new springs and just bought the pro-comp ones.

Any front SD spring up to 2004 will fit and any rear up to 2008 (I think). The 2010 spring is too long for our trucks.

Yep, '08+ rear springs are too long, you would need to relocate the front spring perch and in the end all that work just wouldn't be worth it.

but is there a chart to know what code a spring is based on what is stamped on the spring? I know the door tag tells what code, but what if you don't have access to the truck and you're just looking at a spring.

As far as I know there isn't a chart with spring codes and part numbers. I've had some success going from part numbers to spring rate to spring code. If you find something let me know and I'll try.

I'm pretty sure that gets to involved for just a chart. That is more of a data base kinda info.

The SD spring swaps are very popular with the EX crowd, Ford put some very soft-ish springs on these big wagons. Back when I was starting to contemplate a spring swap I searched a lot and put this little cheat sheet together that compares the various SD springs when swapped under an EX.

This spring swap reference chart my help with your spring selection.
This is my Spring cheat sheet complied from various posts here on FTE mostly from old posts by bruce1954 and Monsta.

The following only applies to 4X4 EXs, the 2X4 rigs have coil springs up front. All EXs came from Ford with G code rear springs, the V-8 EXs all came with B (front B code is much different than rear B code, confused yet?) 4100lb, all V-10 EXs came with C code fronts at 4300lb and all PSD EXs had D codes at 4700lbs.
All the other codes discussed come from SuperDuty trucks (they came with springs that don't suck from Ford.)
Spring........Capacity.....Rate lbs/".....Max travel.....V-10 change.....PSD change
B (V-8)......4100lbs.......330 lb/".........5.02"...........-0.25".............-0.66"
C (V-10)....4300lbs.......350 lb/".........5.01".............0.00"............-0.37"
D (PSD).....4700lbs.......380 lb/".........5.14"...........+0.33".............0 .00"
S codes.....4000lbs.......370 lb/".........4.34"...........+1.22"............+0 .88"
T codes.....4400lbs.......390 lb/".........4.63"...........+1.42"............+1 .11"
U codes.....4800lbs.......410 lb/".........4.89"...........+1.60"............+1 .32"
V codes.....5200lbs.......430 lb/".........5.13"...........+1.77'............+1 .50"
W codes....5600lbs.......450 lb/".........5.34"...........+2.77'............+2 .52"
X codes.....6000lbs.......470 lb/".........5.54"...........+2.90"...........+2. 68"
W codes are from F-450s and X codes are from F-550s and other SD trucks with snow plow prep.

The above spring info has been gathered from posts here on FTE by "monsta" and "bruce1954".

CHART PER TOM, posted in another thread.. NO STAMP ON THE SPRINGS that I know about... (TOM: Shouldn't your text read All S/Duty's came with B,C,D ect. NOT X's ??? )

Got this.....Thank you.....I replied to the other thread. Unfortunately I need to be cheap as I'm still raising 4 kids plus one in college and my oldest daughter is making us grandparents next month. But I want/need a better ride as the suspension SUCKS as we all know. I'm running 33's that rub because the front end sags so much. I don't tow much of go off road....just want it to look good and ride better.

By the way ATS, I have not forgotten about your quote for springs. I have your info and pm's saved. I just really need to find it cheaper if possible as in used takeoffs.

The trick with take offs is your looking for a 15Y/O spring with not a lot of miles. The last move I made I ask my self, Self why have you been dragging the front springs from your 2000 S/D 7.3 around (with 1500 miles on them) FOR 15 YEARS !!! It has become all to clear now

I picked up a set of springs off of a F350 SRW. Do you think they will be too stiff?

No.
My springs are basically the same and I added an extra leaf to the front snow plow prep X codes and the two extra leaves from the B mod to the rears. All good, nice and firm ride but a big improvement from the stock muss.
Did you get all 4 springs or just the rears?

I picked up all 4 corners. They were takeoffs and on craigslist for $40. I saw the truck when I picked them up. The owner put some ridiculous lift kit on his truck. I have had them for a while. Just waiting for some downtime to install them. My rear springs are toast. If I load up a case of beer in the back, I practically bottom out. Tongue in cheek.
