What COPS to buy

Coming home Friday night got the chug-a-lug in OD. Finally tripped the CEL, got home and pulled the code....308...misfire on #8. Pulled the COP and Ohm'd out the primary and secondary....one was real low to spec. Ran to town to Oreilly's and got one ...$60.00 think it was B&D...IIRC. I saw some at RockAuto and Amazon where all eight were about that much....with the boots. I have read here to stay away from Accel, has anyone had any experience with those low price ones? RA has Motocraft for $45.00 bucks each. Thinking of buying 7 more and change them all....any thoughts?

Most will say get Motorcraft or Venton (sp) and be done with it, but I have heard good results from
these COP these COP
(ARAPARTS brand). Made with copper and supposed to be as good as Motorcraft.

Yeah....that's what I saw at Amazon, only another vendor had them for $65.00. I bought some OEM Fobs last year for my F-150 for like $1.99 each.....same price I got a couple for my Mustang. All of them say Ford on them and they work great. You have to wonder where they get this stuff???

I bought the ARAPARTS COP's from a different seller on Amazon. Paid $78.00 to my door, been running them since April '14 with ZERO issues. Your mileage may vary, but for the money, you can't beat them in my opinion. I would love to have Motorcrafts, but not at $60.00 EACH (cheapest I could find). Good Luck.

There is Nothing wrong with the "cheap" ones on ebay or amazon.

Nope, nothing at all except a high failure rate.

Read around the forums, there are always posts about having a COP problem, replacing with cheap COP and within a month they are having the same issue and need to buy a good set of COP.

Well there you have it the guy that runs around only reading the few threads where people complain about their COP's failing obviously has all the answers.

Don't bother with someone like me who has used them for years and never had an issue, but what do I know. I don't go around to forums starting threads on how wonderful my generic COP's have been so it must never happen.

I've had far more COP's taken out by a plug launching than anything else, and actually never had a generic one fail for any other reason. I have had a few from mother Ford crap out though.

It is called research. And it is not a few, it is hundreds (and I am sure many more that don't post). That is the point of these forums, to find others experience with them.
Are there those that use the cheap plugs and never have issues, sure, your one of them. But the COP I posted are around the same cost as "generic" plugs but are a better quality than generic plugs made with only aluminum or steel windings.
I never said only use Motorcraft, I was giving a good recommendation on a cheaper plug that is a known quality product.

Oh, and BTW, I have never seen a truck with a plug blown out (over 2 million miles on the 7 trucks at work plus mine, my brother in laws and father in laws with the 2v 5.4 and 4.6), even though I have read about that happening a lot. By your reasoning, does that mean it does not happen?
