F 350 small big issue
Hello Every
I am desperate for some help.
I agreed to purchase a 2000 Ford Utilimaster 350 engine.
It had been sitting for 3 or 4 months and on a bitterly cold day it would not start.Eventually a truck shop got it going but basically said it was the cold.I had lost almost 48 hours as my plan was to drive back from Toronto to Edmonton.
When I got rolling I went to fill it with gas, it started OK and I drove for close to 2 hours before I saw the chance to quickly purchase a plug in cable which the mechanic recommended. When I came out of the store the truck would not start.Next day I finally got it in to the Canadian Tire store. The mechanic there did a diagnostic and also a battery test.He used the booster charger to get the truck going and then it seemed fine off/on probably 8 times.
I drove another 3 hours got my head down for the night with hopes of an early night and bright as a button i headed out to the truck but it would not start.
A tow truck guy came and gave me a boost and it nearly started but would not catch. When cranking it over it starts off pretty strong and is good for quite a few tries. It does seem like a gas issue but I do not really know.
The codes
P0231 Fuel pump secondary circuit low
P0232 Fuel pump secondary circuit high
I still have 3000 klms to go and every breakdown costs me a tow and another nights stay.At this rate my kids won't know me when I get home.
There was green corrosion on the electrical distribution box but we sprayed it down, it seemed promising for a random issue but has not solved
Thanks for taking the time to read this
I will probably become a regular
