excursion front fender liner in truck?

i think the power stroke excursion had an extra fender liner that the trucks didn't get that may help reduce some motor noise from the outside

part number is 3c7z*16102(3)*ba : for coil spring chassi

i think it covers a small area of the fender liner where u can see through to the motor and the top of the coil spring.

I'm thinking of adding this to my truck but would like to see it first and have to special order it at dealer with no returns and the pair is over $100

anyone done this mod or seen this part(s)

thanks

My excursion has that rubber-ish piece. It clips to the inner liner with push pins, and makes getting to the shock bolts a real PITA. I can't imagine it can make the cab quieter, but it keeps road grime out from the engine bay..

i was thinking that the 05 excursion would have had coil springs up front like the SD trucks did.
are you saying not the case?

if no coils on excursion's then i bet the extra fender liner they had won't fit a coil spring SD

Correct. Excursions front clip was updated for '05 but the suspension was not.

Ah, the Excursion is not so simple.

The 2wd Excursion ALL used coil springs.
The 4wd Exursions ALL used leaf springs.

The SD lineup changed in '05 to use COIL springs on the 4wd, but as was stated, the 4wd Excursion, continued to use leaf springs (essentially an '04 carry-over).
Yes, the front grille was updated on the '05 Excursions, but we didn't get the bigger brakes hence we still have 16" wheels too..

Good call! I tend to forget about 2wd trucks /excursion's, rarer than hens teeth up here. ....
