Weird squeeking from front end.

Okay so this is probably really dumb and I probably just over tightened my lugs or something but my truck only makes squeeking noises when I'm in reverse and turning at the same time. I'm not sure how it's possible to only do it only in reverse but Idk what that even means. Sorry if this is a dumb thread.

Is your truck 4x4?

I was thinking it may be your u joints (if you have it in 4x4 when it happens) but now that you say it has 32's it may be the tires rubbing, does it only happen when the wheel is turned all the way?

It's like squeek squeek squeek squeek. So it's like it rubs for half a turn and then stops for half the turn. It's kinda hard to explain. My tires to rub but it makes more of a rumble than a squeek they are more off road style so it's the thud ding of the knows hitting rather than a rubbing squeek. My dad said it was just cleaning the dust of my breaks but then it would be constant when I go back wards rather than squeek with silense between squeeks. It's really weird

Are your front hubs locked or unlocked when this happens?

They are unlocked. Could it be that i just didn't twist them far enough out so they are squeeking? I plan on doing my radius arm bushings and pivot axel bushings to help pinpoint the noise.

If the hubs were locked, or t-case in 4x4, the front axle u-joints would be suspect. But, if the hubs are unlocked & you're t-case is in 2H, they are not suspect.

I suspect either a bad rear driveshaft u-joint that is just starting to go dry, or your front wheel bearing grease seals are making the noise. Neither of which are incredibly pressing (but don't ignore it or go on a 1500 mile trip until you figure it out), and they get easier to diagnose as time goes on because it will get louder and start to happen regardless of the direction of travel or steering wheel position.

If you haven't repacked the front wheel bearings in a while, do that, it's regular maintenance anyway & dang cheap (need grease seals and disc brake compatible grease). If that doesn't solve it, drop the rear driveshaft and inspect the joints--loose? rough? Could also pull the rear drums and spray brake clean on the rear brakes; mine have been known to make noise when very dirty, like after driving through deep water/mud.

Could just be brakes. Brakes sometimes make noise in reverse that they don't in forward gears. Could be a slightly loose wheel bearing is causing the rotor to rub harder on the pad when you turn the wheel and roll back.

Since you said it seems to happen once per wheel revolution u-joints in my mind are not suspect.

That would make sense because I haven't done hardly any front end work (pack bearings) and it's been snowing and I have taken it mudding a lot of times. Also I don't have the little adjuster foot on one of the breaks. Thank you very much. I'll be sure to check through these things.
