Grille

My 60 has a 59 grille from what I'm told. Not sure if it was replaced, or if it came that way.

Are are the 57-60 bumpers too wide for these trucks or is it just me?

And I have more pics of progress. Gotta get the little one to bed first.

Bumper

This Bumper is incorrect for this truck, think it is a mid 60's.
Still looking.

I see. Mine came with 2. One is I'm guessing 60s- 72/3 gm car. And the other is uglier than sin. I'm undecided what ill use. I do have a few things hidden away I may try though.

And to top it off, the parts for my 460 came. The parts on the left are for my 59, the parts on the right are for my 79.

If you keep pecking away at that thing you are gonna have it all in one piece. Keep it up.Looks like a little work sitting in those new parts packages.

When this bumper was installed, new holes had to be drilled in the frame horns.

1957/60 bumpers use 3 mounting bolts per side in a triangular shaped pattern.

Notice the later bumper uses 2 bolts per side.

Since I ran out of room on the bench I figured I'd set everything on till my cam bearings cam in

Stumbled into this

Brushed and flap dissed the rails and made it look all pretty

Then realized I had broken u bolts and springs

Makes you understand why many end up with a complete tear down. Fiffty plus years of being a truck is hard on a pile of metal! They can be as Bill "NumberDummy", calls them, rolling piles of misery

It's a rolling pile of something......

I'm debating pulling the cab off, its not far from able to lift off just roll the wireing up, 4 cab bolts (granted they come out) and the steering colum/shifter.

Last night when I was checking problem areas the cab corner came off. It was about a 5 pound chunk of bondo with 2 different screen materials in it. Then a wad of rags followed that would have filled a large coffee can. But it's ok I have a welder and I know how to use it.....

Another thing, the back springs measure 2 1/4 wide. 1- is that stock width, 2 what else had them that wide?

If I don't find any soon ill just toss a set of 2 1/2 on it from something I've saved through the years.

I used leaves from a '56 international I had up in the woods. A little heavy but the same width.

I see you aren't the only one who had a leaky back window at some point! Gotta love having the base of the cab rusting out... I am tearing mine out and modding the cab a little further, I'd be interested to see how you fix em proper!

slick truck!
