I don't think there were any offenders per se. IMPO the purpose of the Moderator initiated thread was to measure the pulse of THE Club community in regards to a thread dedicated to that sort of thing.

I believe they got their answer.

But, back to the original topic, some "trending" pictures may pop up as a result for those posts. Just a guess on my part though.

I am not an FTE club member, but I just don't think that sort of thing belongs here. I still stand my my original post. There are plenty of websites for that.

I would like FTE to be a place I like for another decade or 2 (or 3 or...)

Unless a thing like that is reported, and a finger pointed right to it - there is no way for a mod or admin to be aware of it unless they stumble on it themselves.

So for site-wide policy to be done, what needs to happen is for people to be alert to what is NOT allowed, and let someone in charge know.

Otherwise things like that can creap in and remain unnoticed for who knows how long.

There is nothing automatic that sweeps pictures for the presense of nudity or obscene images, I think only the CIA or NSA have such a capability, and it would call for a huge investment of server bandwidth to incorporate any such program - it would also mistakenly include pictures that were not at wrong.

Our community relies to a great extent on "SELF POLICING", and what that means is if we are lax in what we accept - we will have it somewhere.

The golden rule is this: The RULE OF NINE
YOU DO NOT WANT ANYTHING HERE THAT YOU DON'T WANT YOUR NINE YEAR OLD TO SEE YOU POST HERE

That is what Ken Payne originally set down as the bottom line...

It is a good rule of thumb. Judge for yourselves what you are posting

I guess I never thought about how the admin/mods can't possibly see EVERYTHING. That's why I brought it up, however, because I was surprised to see it.

Thanks again everybody.

THIS is our FORD TRUCK HOME, think of it that way

If you were in your own house, what kinds of behaviour would you expect and require?
It is this that has set us apart from much of the trash on the net.

You have seen those places, they get downright crummy - and they don't last, like a family environment does.

You can have your PLAYBOY and PENTHOUSE magazines, just keep them in your own room, not here - in the living spaces

This is what FTE is to begin with, we are a family online in a strange modern sort of way, and we expect family members to behave with decency. That's all...

Would you have Grandma and Grampa see **** posters on your livingroom walls when they come to visit?

Well said. This site is well worth maintaining correctly.

Thanks Tim You are the Man.

Gerald. Glad to have you here. Could you start a thread in the proper forum on your 51?
I for one would love to see it and hear your plans for her. In that forum you will
find the most knowledgeable and helpful folks on here. We are enablers so we
will gladly tell you how you should build your truck.

I think the number one thing about FTE that hooked me on it long ago was that it was straight up, no posers, and no trash language.

The internet has been around for a long time, but there are still a lot of places online that just don't seem to be "GROWN UP"

If I look at a site and the overwhelming thing that I see is bad language and stupid modifications - nothing "REAL" about engine and driveline building, I have nothing to do with them.
