Same length as a long bed crew cab?
Sure does look long, maybe it needs bigger tires.

I know we have some dog lovers on here so I thought I'd post up our new baby girl. Picked her up a little over a week ago at Big Bones Canine Rescue just north of us. Her name is Attie Chenoah Johnson. She's a 10 week old Great Pyrenees Mix. She is doing awesome although really coming into her puppy stage now that she is more comfortable at home. She will likely be 70-100lbs depending on what she is mixed with if anything. First 4 photos are from when we picked her up and the last 2 are from this weekend. She put on 5 pounds in just over a week.

Remember that she is currently in her "socialization window". Google that if you aren't familiar.
What YOU do during that time will affect her, and how she relates to her "environment", for the rest of her life.
It's the most-important stage of a dog's development, and one most-overlooked by dog owners.
If you're going to own a dog, do it right the first time!
Unsolicited advice from a rescuer who sees "ruined" dogs all-too-frequently.

Yes sir! We are doing our best to be all positive and not force her into any situations. Treats are definitely her friend right now. At the same time, she is doing pretty well at getting into a routine. We are taking her to a puppy class this weekend. Probably start a 6 week class at the beginning of next month with her as well. Once she is old enough(has all her shots) and is 100% potty trained she will start riding with us pretty much everywhere we go. One good thing about Colorado is almost everywhere is dog friendly. With her breed, the early socialization is even more important as she will become a guardian. Not aggressive, but her size and bark will certainly frighten many if she isn't socialized early on and ok with other people.

Not sure if I'd admit to knowing what I'm doing. I am definitely much better with horses, but most animals are very similar. They all give you visual cues as to their emotions. Just have to watch those and respect or alter/stop things from escalating. Certainly been doing a lot of reading and watching videos online. Much of the reading has been breed specific so we can make sure we get her what she needs.
We had originally been looking for a GSD but the rescues up here are extremely slow to get back to you and we were ready for a pup. The Pyrenees breed wasn't on the top of our list, but after educating ourselves, I think she will be a great addition to the family. There's a good chance she will become a therapy dog too so the mild temperament is a great thing.

Never heard anyone call a German Shepard a German Shepard Dog. Interesting that they would include Dog in the title, which would infer there is a need to distinguish it from a German Shepard Cat, or Rooster or some other animal. I noticed the AKC does not call the Doberman Pinscher a Doberman Pinscher Dog.
