Ah yes, DMV, the horse thieves for state government. Especially when you have a BIG GREEN TRUCK!

Happy New Year Roy. Be happy you are making your contribution to better roads and enforcement...

If I recall correctly my red rig is registered for 25K and it costs me $250 every year for registration. Sounds like you're paying your fair share!

I don't believe the weights make a difference..........seems to be market value. I'll get educated tomorrow.

The 2011 F-350 was $460 first time.....then goes down a little each year.

In Vermont it is based on weight not value and it never goes down, just up.

I've heard that in some states, my rig would be a Commercial Truck and a whole different set of fees.......

Yeah MA it would be... DOT inspection every year would be about $150 or more..

Don't forget we have a 5% sales tax on the sale.. So a 60k vehicle would be a 3k one time fee..

We also have an excise tax every year based on the value of the vehicle which decreases

No sales tax......No DOT stuff........There is a value tax that goes down each year. That will be part of the total bill of about $500.

Oh Yea.........No Vehicle inspections.........
