99 Navigator door lock cylinder

My driver door lock cylinder fell out a while back. I have the cylinder and some other bits that I was able to find in the door and would like to re-install. I can't find a good diagram of how it all goes back together. I will need to find or fabricate a couple clips etc to restore so a diagram or part#'s would be appreciated!
TIA

An image might be easy to find but hard to see the needed detail. The easiest thing for you to do is remove the panel on the passenger door and see how that one is. It will be a mirror image of the driver's side.

This navigator does not have a key cylinder on the passenger side. Only the driver side...I did find a good you tube video that shows what I need in detail. Looks like I am only missing the rubber gasket for the outside of the cylinder.

Really? Hmm, that's interesting, I always thought there was one on both sides on my 01 Navigator, I actually had to go out and found it's just like yours. I know my 97 expedition had locks on both sides, I guess Ford got cheap and figured they could save a few bucks.

My wife's Volvo is the same way. I think that most Mfg's just believe that key fobs are used as the primary way to open and access most vehicles these days.
The key would only be used when the key fob is lost or batteries need replacing.
If so, why put a cylinder on both sides?
Alloro, you proved that point, not knowing or ever using that passenger side cylinder.
Since we only have one key fob for her car, I carry only a key. The problem... I like to open the door for my wife when we get in and I can't do it when I have to open the car, only from the drivers side. Just not that fast to get over to the other side!

On a side note, I. Went out and tried the rear door cylinder with the key and it did not fit. Was there a second key that I have misplaced and forgotten of a different size/pattern?

Because if the driver's side fails, there's no way to open a door with a key.

Going back to my Expedition again. When I first got it the ignition key would not work in any of the doors or in the rear hatch. I had to remove each cylinder and soak them in oil and work the key in and out, back and forth for a long time. They were corroded and frozen up because the PO always used the FOB to unlock the truck and never the key.

Well thank you again alloro. The key now works in the rear hatch with a little PB Blaster through a straw!

Much less expensive than changing the lock cylinder.
