When I tow my camping trailer I use an equalizer hitch and a sway control unit. The equalizer hitch with the torsion bars force the weight on the hitch to be split between the front and rear axles. This keeps the truck level and takes some off the weight of the rear springs.

WD hitches are very useful when tongue weight is heavy. I try to make my truck sit flat or just below it, that's usually 600+ lbs.

Those equalizer hitches are the better way to tow. The hitch itself will take care of alot of sway problems. We would install between 250 & 350 EQ hitches each year when I worked at Big Sky RV in Bozeman, MT. I worked there for 7 years and no one ever complained about their EQ hitch not benefiting the ride control.

They put a severe amount of pressure on the receiver hitch to push the front of the truck down....

The some of the weight moves from the ball hitch down the length of the bars to the chains. I remember reading about them, in eith Popular Science or Mechanics, when the came out. I hope the guy that thought it up retired well off.

Enough bricks and concrete to put it almost on the bump stops. Plus a new set of tires. I'm guessing right around 3,000lbs.

I've thought about it, hawk! but I would end up overloading the axle with those

We have the 5000 pound bags on our super duty and they are great! Put a ton of stuff in the bed and 7 tons of stuff on the trailer and it will still sit level and handle great!

My Bump is a Workin' Son Of A Gun!!!

Work work all week long!
No pictures this time, but my bump and I just hauled away 2 trailer loads of dirt and one load of busted concrete. I think the truck handled it a lot better than I did, all it had to do is pull it haha. I had to shovel it all!

The guy that invented the shovel must be laughing his butt off at all the work he caused
us to do.
