Extended Warranty???

Hey Guys!
Been quite a while since I posted here, drivin the EB! Odometer at 34,000, didn't buy the extended warranty at time of purchase and have had no warranty issues so far. Would like to know what most of you decided on this issue as we cross the 36K marker? ie, Should I buy one now? I plan to continue to drive this EB for quite some, thanks for your input.

If you buy the Ford extended warranty, be aware these have...at least...a 40% markup. So dicker hard on the price.

Several dealers are also offering these warranty's online for far less than most dealers want for them.

Price out the cost of a turbo charger or related parts and labour and I think you have your answer.
Don't get me wrong, lol love my ecoboost but the complexity of these new engines makes me glad I have a long extended warranty.
Piece of mind.

agree! even a "typical" engine "miss" is enough with a turbo'd engine to burn a piston...sometimes even burn a hole through the piston......

As I was approaching the 36K mile mark I toiled over this very same thing. I researched, priced and asked some questions and I decided not to get the ESP of any type, Ford ESP or dealer specific.

I'm not saying it's bad to have peace of mind but, it's been my experience in driving Fords since the age of 20 (now 53) that I've never had an issue on a Ford that I purchased new within the first 125K miles. By then the ESP is all used up anyway, in most cases.

I have purchased ESP's in the past and never had the pleasure of using it. I did purchase the ESP on my 2010 Focus as I intended to let it go to college with my daughter. I wanted her to be fully protected. That was dumb and I suckered myself into it. If there's any Ford that doesn't need an ESP that would have been the Focus.

Again, one's peace of mind is far more important than another's opinion.

I've bought them on my last two vehicles, and I will soon be purchasing one for this '13. The one on my wife's Acura has already paid for itself in two small-ish repairs to the HVAC system.

I'm not as concerned over the engine components, but I am concerned over the 4wd system being that it's vacuum operated, and all of the electronic bits. The full coverage 8yr that I'm eyeing would pay for itself if a running board goes in-op.

Its good peace of mind for sure.

Flood Ford and Zeigler Ford seem to have the best prices. Apparently you can call and haggle them down even further.
