So i have a 97 f150 with a 4.2. the driveside header has a hole in it. Any tip or trick on pulling that bad boy off without busting the studs? ow ya she has 352k on her, im guessing those nuts wont want to move...
I have heard of a trick called heat shocking. You get the nut hot with a torch or whatever and then cool it off real quick with a shot of water. Supposedly the change causes the rust to break loose. Might try it one one to see if it works.
Just curious if you had any luck with the nuts? I was rolling around under mine and looked at the bottom studs on my mine. Pretty crusty. 266,000 miles worth of MN. salted roads can make them pretty bad.
Ya I know the feeling I'm in wisconsin. I've been spraying them for 2 days now. I'm going to try to get then out tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes.
I would be careful. Don't get too enthusiastic with them.I think if you get them to move a bit, maybe hose em again just for good measure. I'm not the most experienced on the tritons having only owned one for about a month. Guess I've had my share of busted knuckles though. Good luck!
