1956 Electric Wiper Motor - Disassemble, How to...

Did the search- no luck- I want to take apart stock motor/gear asm which appears stuck/frozen. When I momentarily apply power, I think it's trying, but froze. Don't want to burn up anything.
Am aware of warning to avoid turning manually, etc.
I took two long bolts from motor, sections are somewhat loose, but something is restricting, so I'm not sure if I need to start from gear section, under the wiring connection board...
Where can I find correct procedure to disassemble without having a bunch of parts/gears/cams/contacts fall out with no diagrams of how it all goes together. Thanks for any help here. John

Can you post pics of it? Be a lot of help to the rest of us if you figure it out.

the only things that will fall out of place are the brushes, which are very easily put back in place.

you will have to unsolder the 2 wires on the connection end to get it off.

take the covers off each end to see the gears, nothing will jump out.

don't be such a chicken!

1956 Wiper Motor...

56WiprMtr

The motor is identical to the one shown on the '56 Shop Manual, Chapt. IV - Access., Sect. 4 - Misc. Access., Pg. 369, Figs. 24 & 25. If I'm lucky today an image of that will appear below... ok, whatever-- above.

I was hoping to get referenced to website/link/youtube, etc., with rebuild info & such. My search showed a few places that would repair/rebuild asm. and was hoping for a rebuild kit offering.
Thanks for your replies. John

I'd leave the motor in place. Take off the sheet metal cover that is more or less round (4 screws). You'll see the worm gear drive. You can't pull the motor out as long as the big driven gear is holding the drive worm in. Pretty sure the big gear will be nylon. Usually a snap ring to hold it in, and you may need to remove the bellcrank on the other side that drives the wipers.
