97 ford f 150 factory alarm reset
Ihave a ford f150 97 model. I pulled on my door handle without thinking and noticed the alarm did not go off. I would never know it except that the alarm did not go off. Panic button works. It chirps when i lock or unlock the door, lights come on. the alarm just does not go off. The little red light on my dashboard blinks funny. like this: blinkblink, blinkblink, blinkblink, kind of fast but thats it. anyway I can reset this?
kind regards,

Mine doesn't go off if I open the door with it set. I think that the security on these is just for the correct key to start the truck. Mine will flash when I turn it off and remove the key, but when I lock the doors, like yours, the lights flash and horn will beep if you hit the lock button twice, but my light in the dash doesn't flash once it is set.

I have a dealer installed Ford alarm in one of my cars. I have noticed that the red light flashes in a blinkblink blinkblink pattern, and the alarm didnt work when the door handle was pulled. The manual said that it was in "Vallet" mode. To get it back to normal just push on the red light. The next time i locked my car, the alarm sys. was back to normal. Dont know if this will work for you, but its worth a shot.

My factory alarm on the 97 does not go off if it's locked and someone trys to open the door...All the lights will come on inside the truck for about a minute then click off...If you unlock it from inside out it goes off...So if someone broke the window would it go off?
Also my theft lights comes on when you lock it and it stays on for about 30 secs then it goes off
Thats how mine is...How can you touch it?? does it have a button anywhere else?

If the window is broken it should go off. The manual details how to set the sensitivity level. Pulling on the door handles with the alarm set should trigger the alarm. Mine is that way- pretty annoying sometimes- so I just leave the alarm in valet mode unless I'm somewhere I feel the need to set the alarm.
This is how this system works- It is not an alarm but a passive anti-theft device.
The flashing button, usually found under the dash, is for the alarm
Pressing the lighted button will turn off/on the valet mode (button blinks rapidly twice when in valet mode).

The factory alarms usually wont have a pushbutton/light, they will just have a "THEFT" light in the dash that flashes. They really arent alarms either. The only way for the alarm to sound is if you push the panic button on the remote, or if you lock the car with the remote, and then open the door from the inside, or picke the lock and open it form the outside. So, the alarm wont sound if just the window is broken, the door has to also be opened either from the inside or by picking the door lock form thew outside. Also, these factory "alarms" dont have a siren. When the alarm is set off, the horn honks and the lights flash. Also, when the lock/unlock button is pushed on the remote, there probably wont be a chirping sound.
The dealer installed alarms (either Ford brand or another brand) will have a siren. They will go of if the door handle is pulled, glass broken, etc. Usually they will have have vibration/noise sensors. So, if a loud semi drives by, it could set off the alarm. These alarms also have a red light that flashes, that also doubles as a push button to change the alarm from normal mode to valet mode. Valet mode makes the alarm work like the factory installed ones. The alarm will only sound if the panic button is pushed, and the doors will lock/unlock from the remote as usual. The red light should flash in a blinkblink...blinkblink... pattern when in valet mode.
Hope this helps.

You have a common "no crank" issue with your starting system unless your vehicle has been modified from stock.
Tips:
1) Search first, ask second
2) Avoid reviving long dormant threads
3) Please do something with your capitalization......that is painful.
