I had to use the small pocket hidden hinges due to the smaller size of the front door frame.

After installing the hidden hinges and fitting. Now to complete the chop of the top of the doors. The bottom of the doors were fitted to the door opening and then I matched the top on the doors to the opening and tacked into place for fit.

Reversing the hood opening was a challenge. After doing research I was able to find 4 other F1 that had reversed hoods. There are after market conversion kits for the 56's but nothing for the F1's.

The front latching system came out of a mid year Dodge Van.

Do you have any pics from the side of your hood opening mechanism, particularly the part that is attached to the rear of the hood? Your set up looks great!

There are a couple of the pictures that I included here that shows the rear of the hood where the hardware is attached. If you notice I attached my hardware to the original rear hood cross brace where the original springs were attached to the hood.

Here are 2 pictures of the hardware and how it is attached to the hood.

Really, really nice. When closing the rear of the hood, does it ride down most of the length of those horns?

Yes. It locks into the back of the "horns". Here is an early picture of the locking horns. These were cleaned up and modified for the final fit but the operation is still the same. When this hood is closed it is secure front and rear.

Thanks for your comments, Mike. I do have a few hours in this build probably over 1,600 hours.

As I've told you before, I love your tilt hood design... Wish I could have had copied your design, made a blueprint, or that you would start building them for sell...
