Midship fuel tank

I am new on here and wanted to throw out a few ideas. Has anyone tried a midship fuel tank? I have just been thinking it may be an easy mod. Bend up a filler pipe that goes through cab hole for stock look. How about a power steering box forward of front axle? Spin axle around to get steering on the front side??

I was looking at the steering on an old CJ5, probably a newer ps on it but I was thinking the same thing. You would have to rotate the pitman arm from cross steer, not sure if that's possible. I'm not sure I follow you on spinning the axle around??

I just thought about it, I have not checked it out very much yet. There are a lot of box options that are easy to get and cheap!!!

I've been wanting to do a fuel tank like this, but never thought of using the stock fill location-genius! I will be doing a new power steering box mounted forward of the axle. I was thinking of using a mid-70's F150 box mounted on the outside of the framerail with crossover steering, but for a 2wd, you probably don't need the X-over setup.

Also, Classic Performance makes a power box that bolts in the factory location.

I used this CP box and let me tell you its worth every penny. Also will need to order the steering arm for it. I used a 86 astro van pump mounted to my 223.
